PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN
The Presbyterian Women’s Purpose - Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
-
To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible Study,
-
To support the mission of the church worldwide,
-
To work for justice and peace,
-
And to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom.
All women of Morrisville Presbyterian Church are considered members of Presbyterian Women (PW). PW works to find ways to be a viable, meaningful presence in the life of MPC and to support the community with our mission dollars. A pledge drive is held every fall and the monies received are in turn donated to a variety of causes within MPC and the greater community. The MPC Annual Report lists what monies have been donated for the program year.
CIRCLES
"Circles" is the traditional name given to a gathering of women. A circle meeting provides opportunities for fellowship, service, and spiritual growth. A typical meeting consists of sharing joys and concerns, a devotional, prayers, a program, as well as time to chat and visit. The program might be a speaker from a non-profit, a spiritual study, a field trip to a historical site, craft making, a travelogue, or a pot-luck meal. Meetings and programs notices are printed in the worship bulletin and through email chains. Please contact Jennifer Jones at jenjo38@msn.com to be placed on the email list.
